Mauka Woodwerks has been a dream of the Armstrong Family for years. Ever since 1977 we have made toys and furniture for kids, our family and ourselves. Now we are offering these same quality handmade items for sale.
Bob taught Woodworking and various subjects in Industrial Technology for 30 years and Deb was involved in the Montessori method of education for the past 10 years. This combination of experience has helped us form the basis of our product line.
In December of 2009 we all decided it was time to make the move and go for it! On Valentine’s Day 2010 we established Mauka Woodwerks LLC. Mauka Woodwerks is named after our grandson, Keola Mauka. Mauka means "toward the mountains" in Hawaiian and this is very fitting as our company is located in the foothills of the beautiful Rocky Mountains.
The basis of the business is Heirloom wood toys that will provide children with years of enjoyment while teaching important skills. Also, various artistic handcrafted items and unique furnishings have become a component of our product line as we're growing.
All of our merchandise is hand made in Fort Collins, CO. We utilize upcycled materials, organic non-toxic finishes, and eco shipping. Refurbished tools and equipment are used to produce our products and they are powered by wind generated electricity. We are a “Green” business keeping our carbon footprint very small! We strive to produce both aesthetically pleasing and durable products that will be valued by our customers for generations!
