At Mauka Woodwerks, the majority of the wood we use is virgin “shorts”, from a local source, that otherwise would be outcast to landfills. It is hardwood, including maple, alder, cherry, and oak. If we have to purchase wood, we buy only FSC lumber. Nontoxic, water-based paints, inks and organic finishes are applied to all of our products.
